School is back in session and it’s time to start a new Scout year. Last year, Pack 84 grew its ranks from having only 7 Webelo II scouts to 19 scouts with nearly every rank having one or more scouts. This year, we want to add even more Scout friends to our roster. Below are upcoming recruitment events. Come and learn about Scouting, see what your Sherman friends did last year, and consider joining our Pack. Any child age 5-10 (or grades K-5) are eligible to join Scouts.
Thursday, September 14; 6:00 p.m.: Sherman School Knight of Excellence – Cub Scouts will have a table for recruitment. If you bring your Scout to the Open House, feel free to have them wear elements of their uniform.
Thursday, September 21: 6:00-7:00 p.m.: Pack 84 Information Night/Open House; Scout House/Charter Hall – This will be an informational night for current scouts, and also an opportunity for families to come visit and see what Scouting in Sherman is all about. We will have registration forms and talk about plans for the upcoming year.
Saturday, October 7; 11:00 – 4:00; Pumpkin decorating contest at Happy Acres Farm during the annual Farm Day. Pack 84 will host a table for the public (and our own scouts!) to decorate a pumpkin. First, second, and third place pumpkins will receive a prize. We will talk about this more at our informational night, and ask parents to help us man the table throughout the day.
